Badges cost $3 more per day than last year. This price increase affects early registrants but helps fund the event’s operations. Organizers have not indicated changes to refunds or policies. Further details on how pricing affects attendance tiers and registrations will be announced later.
Open Registration follows on November 14. Attendees should monitor official channels for updates. In the coming weeks, notices and instructions will be provided to eligible participants as a part of the registration process.
Comic-Con International has set Saturday, October 17, 2026, as the date for Comic-Con 2027 Returning Registration.
Additionally, it is the first of two badge sales for next summer’s convention in San Diego.
The virtual waiting room opens at 7:30 a.m. Pacific.
Sales begin at 9 a.m.
Additionally, anyone who enters after 9 a.m. is placed at the back of the line.
Comic-Con 2027 Returning Registration runs July 22 to 25 at the San Diego Convention Center.
Preview Night is on Wednesday, July 21.
According to the San Diego Comic-Con Unofficial Blog, the dates came from a 2026 Quick Guide ad.
Additionally, Returning Registration is limited to those who bought a Comic-Con 2026 attendee badge and didn’t request a refund.
Moreover, Comic-Con’s list of who cannot participate is long.
It includes first-time attendees, professionals and their guests, exhibitors, retailers, volunteers, staff, vendors, complimentary pass holders, and press.
Finally, children 12 and under are not eligible, as they attend free with a paying adult.
Eligible members can confirm their status by logging into their Comic-Con Member ID account. Additionally, look for a checkmark that reads “Eligibility: Comic-Con 2027 Returning Registration.”
What badges cost in 2027
Badge prices vary by tier and region. However, Comic-Con 2027 Returning Registration options may affect overall costs.
Adult badges are $88 each for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and $67 for Sunday and for Wednesday Preview Night. Junior, active-duty military, and senior badges are half those amounts: $44 and $34. Every purchase carries a $15 handling fee per member.
Preview Night cannot be bought on its own.
Additionally, it is only available to members who buy all four regular days.
A full run with Preview Night comes to $398 for an adult.
This is before the handling fee.
That is $3 more per badge day than 2026. Additionally, in 2026, Thursday through Saturday badges were $85, while Sunday and Preview Night were $64. Prices come from the San Diego Comic-Con Unofficial Blog last year. Comic-Con has not published a year-over-year comparison.
How Comic-Con 2027 Returning Registration — how the sale works
The system uses a randomized queue instead of a first-come line.
Once the sale starts, waiting members are moved into 15-minute registration sessions in random order.
However, Comic-Con 2027 Returning Registration states that early arrival does not provide any advantage.
Participating also does not guarantee a badge.
Each member can purchase for up to three eligible people in total, including or excluding themselves. Additionally, they need each person’s Member ID and last name, along with the days they want. The organization advises using one browser on one device. It also notes the system is not built for tablets or phones. Payment is by Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express only.
Badges are non-transferable. Each badge carries a unique barcode and an RFID sticker. Holders must show photo ID on arrival.
Additionally, the refund deadline is May 6, 2027, with a 10 percent processing fee.
Comic-Con 2027 Returning Registration Opens November 14
Anyone with a Comic-Con Member ID, including first-timers, can try for badges during Open Registration on Saturday, November 14, 2026.
Comic-Con says taking part in Returning Registration does not affect eligibility for the second sale.
Additionally, details for the Open Registration waiting room have not yet been posted.
Comic-Con International, formally the San Diego Comic Convention, is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation. Additionally, it also produces WonderCon in Anaheim and operates the Comic-Con Museum in Balboa Park.
