Pick your lane

  • Genre fans: Friday, November 13 is your night, with Infernal and then the Into the Unknown shorts. Sunday’s Emerging Filmmakers 2 block adds more horror, comedy, and thrillers.
  • Documentary people: stay late on Sunday, November 15 for both doc blocks back to back.
  • One-and-done: Sunday, November 15 has four programs in a row starting at noon. That is the densest day of the festival.

What’s on beyond the screen

  • Talks: filmmaker Q&As and panel discussions.
  • Parties: networking events with awards and recognition, plus entertainment from San Diego actors, comedians, and hosts.

A note on the dates

The festival’s own site lists November 6 to 16, 2026. Its FilmFreeway submissions page lists November 7 to 15, which matches the screening schedule. The extra days on the main site may cover events outside the theater, so check the site before planning around them.

Still to come

Party and awards night details, plus any events on November 6 and 16, were not on the pages we read. The 824 Journal will update this guide as they are posted.
