Cécred Temple Oud is now a hair perfume. Beyoncé’s hair care brand released Temple Oud Hair Perfume on September 10, turning the signature scent from its existing products into a stand-alone spray.
It costs $54 for 1.7 fluid ounces. The perfume went live on Cecred.com first, then reached the Ulta Beauty app on September 17 and Ulta Beauty stores nationwide on September 19.
What Cécred Temple Oud smells like
The brand lists bergamot and night-blooming jasmine at the top. Deep oud sits at the heart. Australian sandalwood and Haitian vetiver form the base.
Fans of the brand will know the profile. Temple Oud is the scent Cécred already uses across its line, so this launch gives it a format of its own.
Made for the days between wash days
Cécred describes the formula as a way to refresh hair between wash days, with scent that lasts through the day. The brand says it includes antioxidants and works with the hair’s natural chemistry.
Those are the company’s claims. The Journal has not tested the product.
CEO Grace Ray put the launch in a wider context. “Hair fragrance is no longer an afterthought,” she said in the announcement. “It’s evolved into a category in its own right.”
A bottle built like fine fragrance
The packaging borrows from the perfume counter. It uses heavy-walled glass, a fine-mist spray and a chrome cap, with a patent-pending design that keeps Cécred’s familiar silhouette.
Why the launch fits the moment
Bustle included Temple Oud in its roundup of September’s best beauty launches, next to new fragrances from Loewe and Ouai.
For Cécred, the move builds on a brand that debuted in 2024 and on a scent its customers already know. For more fragrance news, see our coverage of the Contrapposto fragrance debut and the rest of Style & Beauty.
