Trick-or-Treat on 2nd Street Returns to Belmont Shore in Long Beach on Halloween, October 31

Palm trees, storefronts and a traffic signal along Second Street in Belmont Shore, Long Beach

The Belmont Shore Business Association hosts Trick-or-Treat on 2nd Street on Halloween, Saturday, October 31, 4 to 6 p.m., along Second Street in Long Beach’s Belmont Shore neighborhood.

The association calls it a long-standing Belmont Shore tradition. Participating shops hand out candy and put a jack-o-lantern sign in their windows, so kids know which doors to try.

How it works

Each storefront takes part for as long as it is able, based on its closing time and availability, so the list of open doors can shrink as the evening goes on. The association also runs a photo booth in front of the Chase Bank on Second Street.

Also on 2nd Street this month

The week before, the association hosts the Belmont Shore Book Fair on Sunday, October 25, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with local writers, publishers and panel discussions. Both events are listed on the association’s events calendar.
