Newport Beach’s Halloween Spooktacular Returns to Mariners Park on October 24

The City of Newport Beach holds its 9th annual Halloween Spooktacular on Saturday, October 24, 2026, 3 to 6 p.m. at Mariners Park and the VJ Community Center, 1300 Irvine Ave. Admission is free.

For families

The city lists a trunk or treat area, a haunted walkthrough, carnival games, bounce houses, a DJ and a Spooky Seek-n-Find at the Mariners Library. Pumpkin decorating returns with help from the City Arts Commission while supplies last.

Food is sold by Cathy’s Cookies, Prime Philly and TK Burgers. The line for the haunted walkthrough closes at 5:45 p.m.

Costume contest

Sign up at the city booth between 3 and 4:30 p.m. Presentations start at 4:45 p.m. Individual categories are Mini Monster (ages 5 and under), Most Original and Best Superhero. Group categories are Best Duo and Best Family or Group.

Parking

Parking is limited, and the city encourages walking or biking. Anyone who wants to decorate a trunk for the trunk or treat can apply through the city’s event page by Friday, October 9. Questions go to Recreation and Senior Services at 949-644-3151.
