Justin Rudd’s Long Beach Turkey Trot returns on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 26, 2026. The 5K and 10K run/walk starts and finishes at the Granada Avenue boat launch ramp, 1 Granada Ave., on the beach path in Belmont Shore.

For families

Kids get their own race, the 1/2-Mile Wingding. Ages 8 to 12 start at 8:40 a.m., and ages 7 and younger start at 8:50 a.m. A parent who runs with a child must also register, sign the Wingding waiver and wear a bib.

The 5K and 10K have two start times, 7:30 a.m. and 9:10 a.m.

Registration

Fees rise each week. The 5K and 10K cost $35 through October 29 and climb to $55 for the final tier, which ends November 26. The kids’ race is $20 through October 29 and tops out at $35. A service charge applies, and late tiers are cash only at packet pickup and on race day. Each registrant gets a bib and a race shirt, though shirts aren’t guaranteed for late sign-ups. Proceeds go to Rudd’s nonprofit, the Community Action Team.

Packet pickup is Wednesday, November 25, 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the start line, or at least 30 minutes before your start time on race day. Runners are asked to bring non-perishable food for the AIDS Food Store.

Parking

The beachfront lots hold more than 1,000 cars, with kiosks charging about $2 an hour starting at 8 a.m. Street parking is free, and the organizer notes that 2nd Street meters are usually free on Thanksgiving.
