The Fallbrook Avocado Festival returns Sunday, April 18, 2027, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in downtown Fallbrook. Admission is free, and the whole day is about one fruit: guacamole contests, avocado ice cream, a best dressed avocado contest, and a kids’ car race called the Avo 500.

The Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce presents the festival, which takes over Main Avenue and its cross streets. The Chamber has posted the 2027 date and hours; most other 2027 details will come closer to spring. Here is what is confirmed as of September 28, 2026, plus how the festival has run in recent years.

What’s on the menu

Avocados, mostly. The festival’s event manager, Kennedy Faires, lists avocado culinary demonstrations, avocado ice cream, and Holy Guaca-Moly among the attractions, along with a farmers market. In 2026, Village News reported Holy Guacamole chips and guacamole, a farmers market with avocados, local produce, flowers, plants, and herbs, and more than 450 vendors lining Main Avenue and its cross streets. Expect plenty of non-avocado food, too.

The Festival Beer and Wine Garden runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with beer and wine sales and live music. It is 21 and over only, with government-issued ID and a wristband required to get in.

The contests

This is where Fallbrook gets fun. The Chamber’s festival page lists:

  • Guacamole Contest: Amateur and professional divisions, with prizes for best tasting and best presentation.
  • Avocado 500: A children’s car race.
  • Avocado Holding Competition: An endurance contest at the Main Stage. Last listed at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
  • Best Dressed Avocado: Exactly what it sounds like.
  • Little Miss and Mister Avocado.
  • Art of the Avocado: An art contest with a junior division.

A little history

The 2026 festival was the 39th annual, according to Village News. The Chamber says the festival has averaged about 100,000 visitors on festival day for many years, with more than a third of them coming from outside San Diego County.
