Karri is an R&B artist in his early 20s from the Bay Area. Consequence and Clash say he was raised in San Francisco, and his songs lean heavily on Oakland, starting with the 2023 single that changed things for him, “3am in Oakland.” Consequence reports that song led to a deal with Chubbs, described as Drake’s right-hand man, and his PFL (Playing for Legacy) imprint.
The sound
He calls it “Lo N Slo.” Consequence describes a moody mix of woozy vocals and hazy lo-fi production that blends Toronto’s R&B sound with his Bay Area roots.
The records
His project Late Nite Slider Music arrived in late 2024, followed by SLIDER II in 2025 on PFL. In January 2025, Billboard named him its R&B Rookie of the Month. In October 2025 he released “go” with Kehlani, a reworking of E-40’s “Tell Me When to Go,” Rated R&B reported.
He has kept his Oakland series going. The newest entry is “Summer In Manila (Oakland Pt. 3),” released Aug. 28, 2026.
Why now
In April he played two nights at Brick & Mortar Music Hall in San Francisco on a run he called The Bay’s Secret Tour, presented by Goldenvoice, and headlined in London, Clash reported. He has no Southern California dates listed yet.
