Downey’s Día de los Muertos Art Festival Returns to the Downey Theatre on November 1

Downey’s 13th annual Día de los Muertos Art Festival takes place at the Downey Theatre, 8435 Firestone Blvd., on Sunday, November 1. All activities run 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Admission and parking are free, according to the Downey Patriot.

What’s planned at the Downey Día de los Muertos Art Festival

The festival site lists traditional folklórico dance, live performances and mariachi, plus a Día de los Muertos art gallery and fine art exhibitions. Community altars and car altars will be on display, and there is a chalk walk.

For kids

Families can find face painting, arts and crafts, and sugar skull decorating. Food trucks and a mercado with artisan vendors will also be on site.

A performance schedule had not been posted as of September 30, so check the festival site before you go.
