OC Parks hosts Boo at the Bay, a free family Halloween party, on Saturday, October 24, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It takes place at the Peter and Mary Muth Interpretive Center, 2301 University Drive, in Newport Beach.
The event is aimed at families with young kids who want a daytime Halloween outing outdoors. The interpretive center sits above the Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve, which appears in the featured photo.
Activities
The afternoon includes spooky storytelling, crafts, science experiments, animal encounters and games. Costumes are encouraged.
Booths will be hosted by the OC Bird of Prey Center, the Environmental Nature Center and Critter Squad: Wildlife Defenders.
Cost and weather
Admission and parking are free. Rain or bad weather cancels the event.
