S.A. Sizemore’s award-winning debut novel, Whispers of the Pale Witch, the first book in the Beckett Coven series, is released September 29

Author S.A. Sizemore’s award-winning debut novel, Whispers of the Pale Witch, the first book in the Beckett Coven series, is released September 29, 2026, on all major U.S. bookselling platforms by Rowan Prose Publishing.

After learning her family played a major role during the Salem Witch Trials, Sizemore was inspired to write the series. Extensive genealogical and historical research led to a book that blurs the lines of fact and fiction, with a family saga at its heart and a villain readers won’t soon forget.

Forensic photographer Kylie Beckett returns home to Salem, MA, hoping to find answers about her mother’s disappearance decades ago. A series of murders and the theft of a dangerous obsidian relic force Kylie to uncover dark truths about her family’s history. Now she must stop the vengeful Pale Witch of Salem before she kills again, and this time it’s someone Kylie can’t afford to lose.

Whispers of the Pale Witch won a 2026 Firebird Book Award for LGBTQ Fiction and American Bookfest’s American Fiction Awards for best Horror Occult book of 2026, and was a Distinguished Favorite in the 2026 NYC Big Book Award for Horror and LGBTQ Fiction. Author Rob Costello calls it “an impressive debut from a powerful new voice in queer horror.”

Sizemore is an author and playwright and a full member of the Dramatists Guild of America. She works in the themed entertainment industry and lives in Los Angeles with her wife and two dogs, Agatha and Harry.
