Venue Profile

Fullerton, CA · Indoor & Outdoor · Updated September 2026

The Muckenthaler Cultural Center occupies a 1925 Spanish Revival mansion on 8.5 acres of hillside in west Fullerton. Walter and Adella Muckenthaler built the house, and their son Harold gave the property to the city in 1965 on the condition that it become a cultural center. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

An outdoor amphitheater with built-in seating was added between 1990 and 1993, and the center presents a regular performance series along with gallery exhibitions and festivals. The fall 2026 calendar has a performance most weeks, with artists such as vocalist Roopa Mahadevan, Mariachi Garibaldi de Jaime Cuellar and Jarabe Mexicano, and the center runs a jazz festival each spring.

The gardens and grounds are open daily at no charge, and the indoor mansion and gallery are open weekdays. Check the center’s site for ticket prices and seating for each performance.
