The Pechanga Pow Wow returns to the Summit Events Center at Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula on January 8 to 10, 2027. It is free, open to all ages, and no tickets are required. Visit Temecula Valley lists it as the 24th annual Pechanga Pow Wow.

Pechanga describes pow wows as Native American gatherings where people sing, dance, reconnect with old friends, and celebrate their ancestral histories. Over three days, dancers and drums from hundreds of tribes across the U.S. and Canada share the styles of their home regions, with dance competitions, Native food, artisan vendors, and fireworks. This guide covers the schedule, what to expect, and the etiquette that makes it a good visit for everyone.

What’s on the menu

Food is sold by multiple vendors, many of them serving Native American dishes. Pechanga’s FAQ names fry bread, buffalo burgers, and succotash. Artisan vendors sell Native crafts, too. Alcohol is not sold or allowed at the Pow Wow; the resort’s own bars and restaurants keep their usual hours.

Pow wow etiquette

A pow wow is a gathering with its own protocols, and the Masters of Ceremonies will announce every event, dance, ceremony, and protocol as it happens. Listen to them. Pechanga’s etiquette list:

  • The dance floor is for participants only.
  • Remove your hat during flag songs and honor songs, and do not take photos during them.
  • Ask first. General photos are allowed, but photos of individuals require their consent.
  • Share the seats. Seating is limited, so please do not hold seats for long periods.
  • Be respectful and courteous at all times.

Visit Temecula Valley’s 2024 preview noted that non-Native spectators may join the round dances and social dances. Wait for the MC to call them.

What to leave at home

  • Strollers. They are not allowed inside the Summit, but stroller parking is available.
  • Coolers, chairs, and wagons.
  • Alcohol.
  • Pets. Only service dogs as defined by the ADA are allowed. Emotional support animals do not qualify.

Getting there

Pechanga Resort Casino is at 45000 Pechanga Parkway in Temecula. Parking is free for the public in the North Parking Garage (off Pechanga Parkway) and the East Parking Garage (off Pechanga Resort Drive). Dancers are encouraged to use the North garage, which has a designated path to the venue. Elder drop-off is at the spa roundabout off Pechanga Resort Drive: follow the signs for Journey at Pechanga, then continue past Journey to the roundabout.

Staying over? The resort takes hotel reservations, and the Pechanga RV Resort has 210 sites. Camping of any kind is not allowed in the resort’s parking lots or garages.

Family notes

The Pow Wow is free and open to all ages, and Pechanga calls it a display of Native American culture and heritage for all ages. Children must attend with a parent or guardian. Because capacity is enforced and seating is limited, arriving early is the best plan with kids.

Can’t make it?

Pechanga’s FAQ says the Pow Wow is livestreamed and links to PowWows.com’s live page.

About the host

Pechanga Resort Casino is owned and operated by the Pechanga Band of Indians. At a recent Pechanga Pow Wow, Chairman Mark Macarro of the Pechanga Band welcomed guests to “our home and our homelands,” as quoted by Gaming America.

Accessibility

Pow Wow specific accessibility details have not been posted beyond the elder drop-off. For questions, email PowWow@Pechanga.com (allow up to 48 hours for a reply) or call 1-888-PECHANGA.

Still to come

As of September 28, 2026: the detailed three-day agenda, dancer registration dates, and head staff. The 824 Journal will update this guide when Pechanga posts them.
