Pacific Symphony’s Symphony Spooktacular Brings a Halloween Family Concert to Costa Mesa on October 24

Pacific Symphony opens this season’s Family Musical Mornings series with Symphony Spooktacular on Saturday, October 24, at the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall, 615 Town Center Drive in Costa Mesa. There are two performances, at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

Leopold the Leopard, the series’ puppet host, leads the Halloween program. Moon Doh conducts, with Victor Yerrid as director, scriptwriter and puppeteer, and actor Blake Eli.

On the program

The listed pieces include Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain, Grieg’s “In the Hall of the Mountain King,” Saint-Saëns’ Danse macabre, “This Is Halloween” from The Nightmare Before Christmas, “Golden” from KPop Demon Hunters and the Ghostbusters theme. Families are invited to come in costume, and the hall’s big screen gives a closer view of the actors and musicians.

In the lobby

The lobby will have Halloween games, coloring stations and photo spots. The symphony lists lobby activities at 9 a.m. for the 10 a.m. audience and at 12:15 p.m. for the 11:30 a.m. audience.

Tickets

The concerts are recommended for ages 5 and older, and everyone needs a ticket regardless of age. Single tickets are sold on the Pacific Symphony website and by phone at 714-755-5799. Subscriptions covering all four Family Musical Mornings concerts this season range $65 to $199, according to the symphony’s season announcement.
