The City of Costa Mesa holds its Scarecrow Festival on Saturday, October 10, 2 to 6 p.m. on the Lions Park Event Lawn, 1845 Park Ave. Admission is free.

For families

The city lists trick-or-treat stations, a kids costume parade, arm painting, photo spots, live entertainment and music for the afternoon. Costumes are welcome.

The scarecrow contest

The festival is built around a scarecrow contest. Entries are registered through a form on the city’s Scarecrow Festival page, which has English and Spanish versions.

Questions can go to the Costa Mesa Parks and Community Services Department at (714) 754-5300.
