The Community Foundation of Orange presents its 2026 Field of Valor at Handy Park, 2143 E. Oakmont Ave. in Orange. More than 1,200 full-size American flags fill the park, each carrying a personal tribute to a service member.
Opening ceremonies are Saturday, November 7, at 11:30. The foundation says the field stays open through noon on Thursday, November 12. Its page does not list daily visiting hours or an admission price, so check with the foundation before a weekday visit.
Special events
A Marine Corps Birthday Celebration with the Orange Police Department is Tuesday, November 10, at 11 a.m. The Veterans Day Celebration follows on Wednesday, November 11, at 11 a.m., with lunch for veterans.
For families
The foundation lists education as one of the field’s purposes, with a goal of reaching more school-age children. Families can walk the rows and read the tributes. Flag tributes can be sponsored through the foundation, which can be reached at (714) 288-9909.
