What Madrid changed
Antonelli’s win on Sept. 13 came from second on the grid after he pitted under a Virtual Safety Car.
Madrid f1 frames the broader competition, where the dynamics mirror such pit strategies.
Hamilton’s early retirement with brake failure cost Ferrari a chance to close on Mercedes.
Leclerc’s fourth was the team’s only points finish, which stretched the constructors’ gap to 145 points.
What comes next
The Azerbaijan Grand Prix runs Sept. 24 to 26 on the Baku City Circuit, with the race itself on Saturday, Sept. 26, over 51 laps of the 6.003-kilometer street course.
From there the calendar swings toward the Americas. The United States Grand Prix in Austin comes in late October, followed by Mexico City and São Paulo, and then the Las Vegas Grand Prix on Nov. 21. Qatar and Abu Dhabi close the year.
With Antonelli’s margin, the drivers’ title could be settled before the field reaches the Strip. The fight for second, and the three-way scrap among Hamilton, Norris and Leclerc, is more likely to be alive under the Las Vegas lights.
