Tickets

Tickets are sold through ShowClix (Leap Events), the seller linked from the official site. The only passes listed are two-day passes, and you’ll scan in each day. Prices include ShowClix fees. As of September 28, 2026:

  • 2-Day GA: Tier 1 ($305) sold out. Tier 2 was $315, with Tier 3 listed at $324.99.
  • 2-Day GA (Refundable Ticket): $385.
  • Guest Pass: $2,000.
  • Payment plan: A four-step plan is offered at checkout.

Standard tickets are final sale, though the ticket page says refunds will be given if the event is postponed or canceled. Your name does not have to match your ticket. An Express Pass for faster entry is also sold separately.

Not your usual rave rules

If most of your New Year’s Eves have been at big-tent rave festivals, a few Proper rules will surprise you. The festival’s info page lists:

  • No totems, hula hoops, LED gloves, or flowlights.
  • Rave attire is “heavily discouraged.” Some kandi is OK, but the page says going overboard can get you turned away.
  • No fan clacking on the dance floor.
  • Blankets and towels are fine, and GoPros (without sticks), sunglasses, and earplugs are encouraged.

Getting there

  • Where: Petco Park is downtown, between 7th and 10th Avenues, south of J Street.
  • Rideshare: Highly recommended by the festival.
  • Parking: Several paid lots nearby, which can be booked in advance.
  • Train: The festival says yes, and links to trip planning from its info page.
  • Hotels: Several are within walking distance. The festival points to the San Diego Tourism Authority’s recommendations.
  • Arrive early: Doors open at 3 p.m. on December 31 and 2 p.m. on January 1, and entry can slow down at peak times.

What to bring

  • ID: A valid U.S. driver’s license or ID card, or a U.S. or foreign passport. DMV temporary IDs are not accepted.
  • The right bag: Petco Park allows clear, single-compartment plastic bags up to 12 x 6 x 12 inches, clutches or purses up to 5 x 7 inches, and infant and medical bags.
  • An empty plastic or Nalgene-style bottle, 32 ounces or less. No metal. There are water fountains inside.
  • Rain gear: It’s rain or shine. Warm layers, ponchos, and boots are encouraged, and Guest Services hands out free ponchos while supplies last. Most lower-bowl seating at the field is covered.
  • Prescriptions in a container matching your ID, with only the doses you need.

What to leave at home

  • CamelBaks. Not allowed.
  • Umbrellas, per Petco Park rules.
  • DSLRs or any camera with a removable lens.
  • Outside food and drinks. If you have dietary restrictions, bring a note from your doctor or nutritionist.
  • Selfie sticks, laser pointers, noisemakers, wallet chains, balloons, skateboards and scooters, chairs, and weapons.

Smoking and vaping are allowed only in the marked corrals at the Park Blvd gate and behind the Trevor Hoffman deck. Cannabis is not allowed inside.

Inside the gates

  • Cashless. Credit, debit, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
  • Lockers can be booked in advance or on site.
  • Guest Services has two spots: near Hodad’s and the lockers, and on the concourse across from the Lexus Lounge. Lost and found is handled there.
  • Get the app. Proper has an official app for set times and updates.
  • Food: Vegan and vegetarian options will be available.

Accessibility

The festival says Petco Park is ADA compliant, with several ADA entrances and viewing locations. Pick up an ADA wristband at either Guest Services location; one guest can join you in ADA areas. Questions and entry help go through the email listed on the festival’s info page.

Still to come

More artists, the day-by-day lineup, set times, stage details, and after-party information have not been released. Parts of the festival’s info page still carry last year’s branding, so recheck the rules closer to the date. The 824 Journal will update this guide as details arrive.
