The Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) holds its free Día de los Muertos Festival on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at 628 Alamitos Ave. in Long Beach. The stage program runs 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

On the stage

DJ Caveman opens the day at 11 a.m. and performs throughout the afternoon. Neiya Arts Ballet Folklórico dances at noon, and the folk group La Nueva Diligencia plays at 4 p.m.

Catrina and Catrin contest

The costume contest begins at 3 p.m., with one category for ages 12 and under and another for ages 13 and up. Sign up at the MOLAA booth in the Viva Events Center between 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.; the museum says 2:30 p.m. is a firm cutoff. Contestants under 18 need a parent or guardian with them, and costumes must be family friendly. The top prize in the kids’ category is a week at MOLAA’s Bilingual Summer Camp.

Before you go

Admission is free. Parking costs $15 per car, paid by cash or card. Backpacks and large bags are not allowed inside, and only a few small lockers are available. Skateboards, scooters and roller skates are also not allowed, and the museum has no place to store them.

MOLAA’s event page gives conflicting answers on whether reservations are needed, so check the page or email education@molaa.org before heading out.
