UCLA Nimoy Theater

Venue Profile

Los Angeles, CA · 460 capacity · Indoor · Updated September 2026

The UCLA Nimoy Theater sits on Westwood Boulevard just south of Wilshire Boulevard in Westwood, below the UCLA campus and Westwood Village. The building opened on Christmas Day 1940 as the UCLAN Theatre and spent decades as a movie house, best known as the Crest. UCLA bought it in 2018, renovated it, and reopened it in September 2023 under the name of actor Leonard Nimoy.

The 460-seat room is the second home of UCLA’s Center for the Art of Performance, which uses it for contemporary music, jazz, global artists, dance and theatre in a closer setting than Royce Hall.

The bar serves beer, wine and mixed drinks to guests 21 and over, along with soft drinks and coffee. Evening parking in the Glendon Avenue structure is inexpensive, and the box office opens an hour before each performance. Photography and recording are not allowed.
