The Wallis
The Wallis is a performing arts center at North Santa Monica Boulevard and Crescent Drive in Beverly Hills. It opened in 2013 and joins a restored 1933 Beverly Hills post office with a new 500-seat theater, the Bram Goldsmith Theater, designed by Zoltan Pali of SPF:architects. Philanthropist Wallis Annenberg gave $25 million toward the project.
The center presents classical recitals, jazz, cabaret and global music along with theatre and dance, and its smaller studio theater inside the old post office hosts more intimate programs.
Bars operate before shows and at intermission, and many restaurants are within walking distance. The building has elevators to all levels, a hearing loop and a quiet room. Cameras, including phone cameras, may not be used during performances.
