The Sandpiper Lounge is a small dive bar on South Coast Highway in Laguna Beach. The bar dates to 1942 and has been run by the same family since 1969; Visit Laguna Beach credits Chuck and Chip Harrell with owning it for close to 50 years.
Its main draw is live music seven nights a week, with local bands playing for dancing in a wood paneled room decorated with military memorabilia and surfboards.
The Sandpiper is open daily from 1 p.m. to 2 a.m. It is a casual walk in bar, and most nights do not require tickets. The room is small, so late weekend sets tend to be crowded.
