The Kibitz Room at Canter’s
The Kibitz Room is the cocktail lounge attached to Canter’s Deli on Fairfax Avenue, north of Beverly Boulevard in the Fairfax District. Canter’s opened the room in 1961 next to its dining room.
Canter’s says the room has something on stage every night of the week, and many nights turn into jam sessions by midnight. Local bands share the calendar with comedy nights, so the mood shifts a lot depending on the evening.
Canter’s lists daily hours of 10:30 a.m. to about 1:40 a.m., and the full deli menu is available next door. The room is small and casual, and it sits right beside the deli’s dining room, so many guests come in after a meal. Parking is mostly on Fairfax and the surrounding side streets.
