The Drake
The Drake is a restaurant and music room on South Coast Highway in Laguna Beach that pairs contemporary American dinners from chef Paul Gstrein with live music every night. Performers play in a piano bar lounge next to the dining room, and there is also an outdoor patio.
The music is mostly jazz, R&B and blues, performed by solo pianists, vocalists and small combos. A typical late September 2026 week included the Lola Kristine Quartet, the Memphis Kings Quartet, and pianist Bryan Cabrera with Ron Kobayashi.
A $10 music charge applies Thursday through Saturday. Reservations are recommended, and sets usually start around 5:30 or 6:30 p.m. Guests who want to hear the band closely can ask for lounge or bar seating when booking.
