The Cowboy Palace Saloon
The Cowboy Palace Saloon is a country bar on Devonshire Street in Chatsworth, in the northwest corner of the San Fernando Valley. It calls itself the last real honky-tonk in Los Angeles.
Local and Southern California country bands play Wednesday through Sunday nights, and the saloon offers dance lessons on select nights, so the floor is usually filled with two-steppers and line dancers. Pool tables and a full bar round out the room.
The saloon is 21 and over. Cover is modest: a few dollars on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and a little more on Friday and Saturday, when lessons are included. It opens at 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 3 p.m. on Sunday, with a daily happy hour.
