The Barbara Morrison Performing Arts Center
The Barbara Morrison Performing Arts Center is a storefront performance space on Degnan Boulevard in Leimert Park Village, a few doors from The World Stage. It was founded in 2009 and carries the name of the jazz and blues singer Barbara Morrison.
The fall 2026 calendar mixes music with spoken word and classes: a monthly First Thursday Blues night and an Old School Blues tribute to Barbara Morrison, weekly Da Poetry Lounge open mics, the SWAAM Spoken Word Art & Music series, improv classes and comedy, and vocal and performance coaching workshops. The center also rents the space for private events and offers live streaming of performances.
