Starlight Bowl
The Starlight Bowl is a city-owned amphitheater on a hillside above Burbank, reached by Lockheed View Drive in the Verdugo foothills. It was built in 1950 for $175,000 to a design by E. Dean Cowley and dedicated on June 17, 1951.
The bowl now holds about 3,800 people, with roughly 2,800 chairback seats and room for 1,000 more on the lawn. Its summer concert season focuses on tribute bands and classic rock and pop acts, and the 2026 season ran under the title Back Under the Stars.
Picnicking is part of the tradition. Guests may bring food, beer and wine, coolers and blankets, though hard alcohol is not allowed and chairs must be low-back. All bags are searched, recording is prohibited, and parking is cash only, so carpooling is recommended.
