Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall

Venue Profile

Los Angeles, CA · 6300 capacity · Indoor · Updated September 2026

The Shrine Auditorium opened on January 23, 1926, near USC in University Park. G. Albert Lansburgh designed it in the Moorish Revival style with local architects John C. Austin and Abram M. Edelman. It is owned by the Al Malaikah Temple of the Shriners, and Goldenvoice has handled booking and operations since 2012.

The auditorium seats about 6,300 after a 2002 renovation reduced it from 6,700, and its stage is 194 feet wide. The adjoining Expo Hall holds about 5,000 for general admission shows and electronic music events. Performers over the decades include Sam Cooke and My Chemical Romance.

Bags larger than 14 by 14 by 6 inches are turned away, as are cameras with detachable lenses and GoPros. AEG Presents takes event accessibility questions at accessibility@aegpresents.com. Jefferson/USC station on the E Line is a short walk.
