Saban Theatre
The Saban Theatre is a 1930 movie palace on Wilshire Boulevard at the eastern edge of Beverly Hills. Architect S. Charles Lee designed it as the Fox Wilshire Theatre for 20th Century Fox, and it hosted premieres including The African Queen in 1951 and Dreamgirls in 2006.
The building was converted into a stage venue in 1981 and was run by the Nederlander Organization until 1989. Temple of the Arts has owned it since 2005, and a $5 million gift from Haim and Cheryl Saban led to its renaming in 2009. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2012 and now seats about 2,000.
The theater hosts music, comedy, talks and community events, and The Canyon handles its calendar and ticketing, which mixes international and tribute concerts with comedy tours. Check each event listing for ticketing and age details.
