Que Sera

Venue Profile

Long Beach, CA · Indoor · Updated September 2026

Que Sera is a small bar on East 7th Street in Long Beach. The space opened in 1975 as the Monarch Room and took the Que Sera name in the early 1980s under owner Ellen Ward, when it became a live music room and a gathering place for the city’s LGBTQ+ community. Melissa Etheridge played here during her Long Beach years.

The current owners keep the calendar broad. Recent listings include punk and psychobilly bills, goth and darkwave dance nights, tribute shows, stand-up comedy and karaoke. Band nights usually have a low cover charge.

Que Sera is 21 and over and small, so popular nights fill up quickly. Parking is on the street in the surrounding neighborhood.
