Largo at the Coronet
Largo at the Coronet is a small theater on La Cienega Boulevard between Beverly Boulevard and Melrose Avenue. Largo began in 1989 as Café Largo on Fairfax Avenue, and Mark Flanagan took it over in 1992. He moved it to the Coronet Theatre in June 2008.
The club built its reputation on Jon Brion’s Friday residency, which drew guests such as Aimee Mann, Fiona Apple and Elliott Smith. Today the calendar alternates music nights with stand-up comedy, and recurring names include the Watkins Family Hour, Benmont Tench, Patton Oswalt and Marc Maron.
The main room is a small seated theater, filled first come first served at check-in, and latecomers are not admitted. Shows are 12 and up. Door sales, drinks and parking are cash only, with an ATM on site, and there is a strict no-cameras, no-recording rule.
