Irvine Barclay Theatre
Irvine Barclay Theatre is a 755-seat hall at the edge of the UC Irvine campus on Campus Drive. It opened on September 30, 1990, and is jointly owned by the City of Irvine and the university, with a nonprofit operating company running it. Developer Richard Barclay’s $1 million gift toward the $17.4 million project gave the building its name.
San Francisco architect Larry Cannon designed it, and no seat sits more than 60 feet from the stage. The theater presents jazz, world music, classical and chamber programs, dance and talks, and the 2026 to 2027 season includes Snarky Puppy. The theater closed during the pandemic and reopened on June 24, 2021, after about $2 million in renovations.
The ticket office is open weekdays and weekend afternoons. Parking is in university lots, and you can prepay through the UCI parking site before the show.
