BroadStage
BroadStage is a performing arts presenter based at the Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center on 11th Street, a few blocks inland from downtown Santa Monica. The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage, its main proscenium theater, opened in October 2008 and seats 535. A 100-seat black box called The Edye and an indoor and outdoor space called The Plaza share the campus.
The nonprofit programs a season that mixes jazz, classical recitals and chamber music, world music, opera, theatre and dance. Past guests have included pianist Andre Watts and soprano Anna Netrebko, and the organization also runs artist residencies and education and community programs that reach thousands of students, families and educators each year.
All seating is reserved. Wheelchair locations can be chosen when buying online, and the main stage offers assistive listening devices. The venue asks patrons who need accommodations to contact patron services about two weeks before a performance.
