Alex’s Bar is a neighborhood bar and music room on East Anaheim Street in Long Beach. It is best known as a home for punk and garage rock, and it has been used as a filming location for HBO’s True Blood, the film Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny and Green Day’s ‘Dilemma’ music video.

Bands play most nights of the week. The fall 2026 calendar includes Handsome Dick Manitoba, The Mummies, Gilla Band and Southern Culture on the Skids, along with free karaoke on Tuesdays and trivia on Wednesdays. Advance tickets are sold through DICE, and remaining tickets are sold at the door.

The bar is 21 and over, standing room only, and all on one level with an ADA-accessible section. Free parking is in the lot next door, and food comes from rotating vendors on show nights.
