About Styx

Styx formed in Chicago in the early 1970s and built a catalog that moved between hard rock, progressive arrangements, and radio ballads. The band reached a national audience with “Lady” and expanded from there across a run of albums in the late 1970s.

The Grand Illusion (1977) and Pieces of Eight (1978) established the band as an arena act, and songs including “Come Sail Away,” “Renegade,” and “Mr. Roboto” remain in steady rotation. Styx continues to record and tours internationally.
