NEW YORK MILLS, NY. Jared Chontow has announced the publication of his fantasy novel, The Heroes Are Dead: Crimson Spear, an action and adventure story centered on a warrior forced to return to a world threatened by the Demon King.
The novel follows Bjorn Erikson, once known as the Crimson Reaper, who now lives quietly as a city guardsman. His retirement ends when an aging king asks him to take on a dangerous mission. Armed with the legendary Crimson Spear, Bjorn must travel through enemy territory and confront the forces threatening humanity.
The Crimson Spear is forged from a mysterious Crimson ore and has the ability to negate magic. Along the way, Bjorn is joined by an imprisoned necromancer, creating an unlikely partnership as they face dangerous creatures and enemy forces. The story brings together action, adventure, fantasy, and themes of redemption and sacrifice.
“The goal has always been to create stories that entertain, spark the imagination, and give readers an escape into unforgettable worlds,” said Chontow. “I hope readers finish my books with the same excitement and enjoyment I felt while writing them.”
Born in New Jersey in the mid-1990s, Chontow began writing stories during childhood and now lives in Upstate New York. With encouragement from family, friends, and readers online, he decided to publish his first novel. The Heroes Are Dead: Crimson Spear is available on multiple platforms globally.
